leaf printing with gel plates workshop
AQA member, Marty Kotter led the workshop on leaf printing with gel plates June 13, 2026. While most of Marty's work involves painting on silk, she has been experimenting with leaf printing and shared it with AQA members.
We experimented with choosing fresh leaves and produced prints on paper. We practiced layering prints and making ghost prints of leaf shapes with acrylic paint. We played with applying paint smoothly with a brayer, color choices, and adding textures.
Toward the end we printed leaves on cotton fabric.
We were happy with our results!
