Botanical Dying Workshop with grace Jones
This workshop was held July 12 and 13, 2024 at the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center, downtown Columbus.
Grace is a fiber artist specializing in dying and printing cloth with plants and other natural plant products. She was the 2024 Artist in Residence at the Cultural Arts Center.
The silk fabrics were first prepared with a soak in a mordant and dyed overall with madder (red) or logwood (blue). Then we contact printed with various flowers and leaves.
